Our Story

Hi! I'm Olivia

I was in Grade 2 when I started my entrepreneurial journey. I decided to take part in Stirling Primary School's Games Day and have a stall where people could paint their own ceramic. My mom helped me along the way and in the end I made R5000 profit. As an 8 year old, I felt like I had won the lottery. However, as an 8 year old, I had no need for the money. I decided to donate it to two of my favourite charities, King's Children's Home and African Angels. It made me feel so good, I carried on doing every Games Day after that. This was the start of my first business, Olivia's.

I held many successful crafting activities, until I wanted more. That was when I started my business Olivia's Small Delights. I still sold some craft kits but my focus was on starting to make jewellery. I had just gotten my first piercings and I loved jewellery. To this day, I still believe that it is a reflection of your personality. Jewellery is an art form, that helps one express oneself. I mainly sold some beaded bracelets, and a few pairs of super basic earrings.

Then, in November 2023, I was presented with the opportunity to buy a jewellery business from a friend in town. I used all of the money that I had saved for my business, and bought a huge amount of beads. Whatever you're imagining, think bigger. I'm talking two rooms full of beads. With this investment, Olivia's Designs was born. My "big girl" business. I have learnt many skills from my business ventures, and now I am able to make more complicated designs with my own two hands.

I am now in Grade 11 at Stirling High School, and I plan on growing Olivia's Designs into one of South Africa's most prominent, affordable, luxury jewellery brands.

I am so grateful to all of the people who have helped me get to this point, and all of those customers that will still come.

Happy shopping!
